Statement
Burgmans’ works are dominated by human and organic elements inspired by poets, philosophers, lyricists and visionaries. Her focus is predominantly on abstraction, as she continually experiments with technique and colors.
Subjects are composed often natural elements such as pebbles, trees, grasses and water. Bold, translucent overlapping layers, often incorporating the results of her experiments with a ceramic tool called “kidney”.
Burgmans abstract portraits have a high degree of similarity to the subject. Commissioned or free works. Her free work portraits are of people who deserve the spotlight.
